Genius Hour Ted Talk Preparation

Hello! I am nearing the end of my Genius Hour project and have begun planning for my Ted Talk to document my process. I have created a list of questions that will help me to consolidate my thoughts and direct my Ted Talk. This is my list so far:

Introduce the topic
Introduce my Genius Hour Question
Why did I choose it?
What research that have I done throughout the process?
What are the highs and lows of the process? What has been easy and what has been difficult?
Can I use this information in the classroom? Are others doing similar things in the classroom?
What is my final product? Was I able to fully answer my question?

I am excited to get going on this project!

Before this class I had not engaged in so many technological tools! I am not someone who tweets regularly and I had never created a Powtoon. I was very nervous about this course, but have learned that it's actually easier to navigate these tools than I thought! I feel much more prepared to use technological tools in the classroom and introduce my class to these tools as well!

  1. Hello Maddy,

Overall after looking overall the various qualities and artifacts included in your digital portfolio, I was able to understand the importance of many of these sources of information. More specifically, each of your reflections looked at a different part of your genius hour or genius hour research and effectively described what goal you would be working towards that week. In addition, I thought that the overall layout of your blog was very well done and included all of the artifacts that are required of you for your digital portfolio.
In regards to the areas of improvement for your digital portfolio, I noticed that many of your pictures were not cited throughout your blog posts and in some of your videos. It is important that these are included throughout your digital portfolio even if many of these pictures are taken by you or found on google images, etc. Furthermore, all of the criteria is met for your digital portfolio and I loved the formatting in regards to your twitter feed and colours used throughout your blog!
